Pancake Bay

Fantastic first day with flawless weather, minimal traffic - even the construction Gods cooperated.

Hailey's nest
Subaru loaded at the crack of dawn and Hailey's back seat nest arranged to her liking.

Had a number of sweet breaks along the way including a great service centre just before the cut off to Espanola and a lovely picnic area/rest stop in Bruce Mines

Bruce Mines picnic area

The seven or so hours from Orillia to Pancake Bay flew by, helped by TED Talks, CBC Ideas and some episodes of This is That.

Mighty tent has survived much worse, right Connor?
Pancake Bay is north of the Soo and completely beautiful. Big thank you to sister Laurie (not a nun, an actual sister) for reminding me of the great time they had here when the lads were pups.

The beach is pristine as is Lake Superior. Water is surprisingly warm and a big hit with swimmer-grrr...

Coming ashore

The tent is set up for a sweet sleep, as long as there is some room left for me.
Might be room for me, might not
Thanks to everyone who has wished us well and checked in on our progress.
It means a lot to me to have you rooting for us.

Next Stop, Rainbow Falls Provincial Park, near Thunder Bay.
